Job Summary

Job Title: Payroll & Accounts Manager Reports to: Position Objective: Ensuring all payroll tasks (including journal entries) are completed as required and delegate, as necessary. Identify and deliver the training and development requirements for colleagues/juniors. Develop the process to use the relevant systems to improve productivity and protect/improve accuracy. Responsible for payroll across all client locations. Responsible for building strong and sustainable client relationships. Ensure clients accounting needs are met with queries effective resolved and jobs completed on-time and to the expected standards. Production of the required annual and client reports in readiness for face-to-face client meetings. Holding client meetings in a way that strengthens relationships and ensures client requirements are fully understood and that any additional services that would benefit the client are offered in a consultative way. Key Responsibilities Client Relationship Management Tasks Expectations • Primary contact for assigned clients • 48-hour SLA for client emails and calls • Proactive Communication with clients to understand and respond to their needs • Host annual and ad hoc client meetings as required • 100% retention of client value • Independent resolution to queries • Articulate the value of our services outside of accounting preparation • Monitor service levels to ensure clients’ needs are met Accounting and Compliance Tasks Expectations • Review and complete annual accounts and tax returns for assigned clients • Prepare interim and end of year ac-counts to the stage of review • Jobs completed within agreed timeframes • Ensure each job is fully understood and the specifics within in to reduce errors • Prepare and complete payroll on-time ensuring all enhancements, overtime, commission, and incentives have been accurately applied • Complete Payroll journals • Liaison with HMRC and other relevant bodies to ensure client queries and jobs can be completed • Ensure business processes and procedures are followed • Proactively seek support to ensure errors are not made • Effectively delegate • Prepare letters, correspondence, re-ports, and other documents as re-quired System Management Tasks Expectations • Sound understanding of accounting software and associated business pro-cesses • Ensure a comprehensive knowledge of Payroll system, linked software, and as-sociated processes • Use all systems & processes in the way outlined by business leaders • Address issues and/or challenges with systems & processes proactively and work on a resolution • Ensure database is up to date accurate • Proactive system development in partnership with key internal stakeholders to enhance performance and reduce error possibility • Request support as required to build on existing knowledge levels • Seek required training Service & Business Development Tasks Expectations • Fully understand all processes and how they interact with one another to posi-tively impact the business results and performance • Make recommendations that will im-prove ways of working, systems and/or processes benefit the team, clients, and business • Identify opportunities to offer additional services to clients • Engage in ongoing professional development • Support development of peers • Develop external networks and referral relationships • Take a proactive approach to self-development • Support other team members where appropriate Core Competencies • Analytical and problem solving skills • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Highly effective relationship management skills • Planning and organisational skills • High degree of accuracy, responsibility, and attention to detail • Adherence to internal procedures Our Core Values • Family – spending valuable time with family is highly encouraged, for both clients and team members.
